Who We Are

Welcome to The Arts Center! Our very own creative and cultural resource that provides an engaging arts education for children and adults, acts as a steward of permanent collections, and maintains a landmark facility that enriches Colquitt County and all of our neighboring communities.

Since our inception, it has been very important for us to share our programs and love for the arts with the community, with an ever-present goal of enriching the lives and minds of all. Activities at the Arts Center are as diverse as the people who live in our community. With the support and enthusiasm for the arts from the community, we have been able to provide classes year-round, and have specially designed programming to provide an enriched and extended education to our community and many of its special groups.

Transformed from the old Moultrie High School in 1987, The Colquitt County Arts Council was formed by Moultrie Service League who wished to encourage participation and enjoyment of the arts among all citizens of Colquitt County. Very soon though, our lovely building who proudly belongs to the National Register of Historic Places, will be turning 100 years old and we want to make sure that it will be able to stay in our community for many more.

What We Do

The  Arts Center is a creative cultural resource that makes quality visual and performing arts available to a diverse population. As a landmark and pillar in the community, the Colquitt County Arts Center plays a pivotal role in providing our residents in Southwest Georgia with the opportunity and access to arts education programs that they would not be able to receive elsewhere.

The Arts Center is a thread of gold running through the fabric of this rural community. It adds a little interest and sparkle to our everyday lives. From the wide range of classes to the exceptional drama and musical productions, The Arts Center's projects and activities are respected across the entire region. Some of our community outreach programs takes art education to schools and assisted living facilities proving their slogan, “Where Community Meets Creativity.” The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently honored The Arts Center with its Community Service Award in recognition of the many outstanding services we offer our community. Without a doubt a large percentage of our citizens have enjoyed the services of the Arts Center and we're so thankful to have you all here!

The Arts Center thanks our Supporters!
